Dallas Bead Market - Jelcy Romberg Classes

Me with Jelcy Romberg showing off our necklaces and bracelets

Necklace I made- it was an AWESOME class. Jelcy taught us how to make a stunning necklace from a strand of beads, a few strands of colored pearls and fibers. This looks so difficult but it was really easy- especially for me the beginner- can definitely see making this again. Thinking of the really frilly fibers for some added texture. Maybe even some silk or wool?

Dallas Bead Market- it was really busy but waited for it to clear out some so I could take photos.

Beads, shells, pearls, rings, books, fibers...oooh my!

The Dallas Bead Market 2008 was too much fun! My first time at any bead market and first time to taking beading/jewelry classes. Jelcy Romberg was brave enough to have me in two of her classes. The first class we made the necklace shown above- LOVED it! The second class we made a really fancy bracelet, still a work in progress for me- will be beautiful when done. Jelcy was a fantastic teacher, funny and patient! her website is www.jelcy.com

Mushrooms in My Yard

After watching the smurfs with the twins- could not help it- had to take a photo of the mushrooms growing in our yard. They were so pretty- I can picture a little smurf village living below them. Well at least until the ...lawn dr. shows up tomorrow and leaves them all homeless.

Fabric Postcards with Frieda Anderson Fabric

After attending an AWESOME workshop with Frieda Anderson I found myself with beautiful hand-dyed fabric that just had to be used. Since they were all small pieces a fabric postcard seemed to be a great use of the fabric.

Old Tree Photo

Randy...the best husband in the world! Took me to a new "tea room" Taste of Home in Wylie, for lunch today. Outside of the tea room was the largest, old tree I have seen in a long time. You could just tell if this tree could talk the stories it would tell. The tree's bark had the most exquisite pattern. The bark grooves where deep and rich in color.

Gold and Silver QTC-Quilters Trading Cards

Made to trade with pizzazz group. They are much prettier in person. The reflection from the gold/silver does not take pretty photos.

Fiber Fusion Postcards

Silk fiber fusion postcards made to exchange with group #52.
I purchased several different color and a small Silk Fusion Started Kit from a Canadian company that was at the Houston Quilt Show.
